The Ateneo School of Government, with funding and support from the European Union through the ASEP-CELLs project, offers the country’s pioneering track on ENERGY POLICY, the Master in Public Management Energy Transitions track. Applications for the August 2021 intake are ongoing.

What is ASEP-CELLs

Access to Sustainable Energy Programme-Clean Energy Living Laboratories (ASEP-CELLs) is a project that supports the Department of Energy through the funding of the European Union in achieving 100% rural electrification through renewable energy, thus increasing the share of renewable energy in the Philippines’ energy mix, and promoting energy efficiency towards sustainable and inclusive growth.

How we do it

Knowledge Management

Develop a coherent research agenda for long-term energy policy with focus on managing energy transitions in the short- and medium-terms.

Capacity Building

Create a graduate program on applied energy policy including (i) pilot testing these programs; (ii) developing energy access (EA), energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) modules; (iii) conducting of training needs assessment, development of training programs and short courses and (iv) tapping of international and local experts to deliver “training-of-trainer” program.

Institutionalize cooperation among Local Government Units (LGUs) and create an enterprise development hub to assist interested project developers and service providers.

Advocacy

Lobby for data-driven policies; create media and legal fellowship programs; partnership with NGOs to explore low-emission solutions; RE technology-based livelihood trainings for local communities; mainstreaming EE practices.
